If you think self care means going for a spa day, you might be doing self care wrong. Yeah, not the most hippy-dippy thing I’ve ever said, but I want you to know that it’s coming at you from a non-judgemental place. Hear me out.

You want to be happy and healthy. Just like I want to be happy and healthy. I want that for both of us.

Society puts an enormous amount of pressure on us, especially working moms.
Society says, “You can have it all, but you have to do it all.”

You’ll need to work full time, be the primary parent, get involved at school, be the chauffeur and the chef…

And, don’t forget self care–massages, facials, whatever.

Woah. Self care is supposed to come with a sense of ease.

But, sometimes self care just feels like an extra thing to put on the to do list.

These are some low cost, low time investment things that I like to do for self care and you can do them too.

Unplug from social media. Less distractions. Less comparisons to get you down.
Get dressed for the day. It’s amazing what that can do for your mood.

Take a bath instead of a shower. Put Epsom salt in your bath or essential oil in the shower.

Turn on some music,

Write a brain dump to clear your head. It’ll free up mindshare so that you can ease into relaxation,

Drink an extra glass of water. 75% of people are chronically dehydrated.

These are the little things that start to reset your body and they count as self care.

What do you do for self care? Drop a comment. I could help out someone else.
