It’s important to maintain your company’s status as the de facto expert in the industry. You need content to fill out Facebook posts, LinkedIn, Quora, Reddit, and the website! Prepare yourselves for an exhaustive reference list the next time you need a blog post.

  1. Behind-The-Scenes Process/Procedure. Take people on a trip through the ’employees only’ door and show them what makes your process unique/superior/interesting/sustainable/passionate.
  2. Interview the CEO on A Current Event. Find a news event that’s related to your company. Ideally, it’s something that’s positive or at least not negatively associated with your product. What’s the CEO’s feelings about this update?
  3. Company History Lesson. the older and more established your corporation becomes the more users there are who don’t know your proud history! Endear people to you with the heartwarming story of the founder or the struggles that plagued the fledgling business.
  4. Product Detailed Description. It’s time to demonstrate the special nature and versatility of a particular star product. Talk about the materials that went into it. Describe everything to do with it.
  5. Service Case Study. More valuable than interviewing the CEO is interviewing a happy customer. Walk us through a day in the field that went particularly well and why.
  6. Tutorials. Find common questions through your social media outlets and answer the top 3. Pick a product or online tool and create a tutorial to help introduce new users to it.
  7. Comparing Products. Get the real stats from competitors and for your own products. Pit them back to back. You can even pick features that are important to your company so your product or service really shines in the lineup. Don’t stack the odds in your favor, people appreciate honesty as much as they do price. It’s not all about the features.
  8. Event Press Release. A blog post should accompanying the various other forms of exposure everyone is drumming up for the company event. This post could describe how things went last year, or, if it’s the first time, how you hope things will go this year.
  9. Debunking Myths. More General than troubleshooting or tutorials, Debunking common myths is a good way to set your customer’s minds at ease. Set the record straight once and for all.
  10. Staff Picks. What are some favorites from the product line? Not what the customers like, but what some of the employees or executives might be using. This is a great way to introduce customers to new product lines.
  11. Massive List Posts. Oh, would you look at that… This is an easy way to give value to your user base. Pick the top 20 products in your inventory. The Top 10 reasons your business is superior. The top 50 ways customers can get more out of your service.
  12. Looking Forward. Every company has their 5-year plan, maybe even their 20-year plan. Share some highlights with your user base. Get them excited to be a loyal customer, along for the ride.
  13. Conceptual Thought-Pieces. Generally a Long-Form post, this is something where you can explore the reasons behind your company’s mission or goals. What’s the larger impact you’re trying to make in history?
  14. Expert Interviews. Bring in someone who can talk about the state of the industry. Or an expert that can talk about health benefits related to your product or service. How are you changing the modern American Household?
  15. Funny Customer Service. What was your strangest request? The most oddball changes that were needed that the company actually went through with? Be careful to keep this light-hearted, friendly, and anonymous. This can be a great place to stay fun and a little wacky.
  16. Take a Side. Pick something (preferably not political) and stick to a side either based on logic, ethics or personal morals. It doesn’t necessarily need to be related to your business. Taking a side gives some humanity to your company.
  17. Showcase a Trendsetter. Like an Expert Interview, except you are flaunting their excellence and innovation! This is great to do with a passionate individual or a non-competing small business that’s catching the media by storm. It’s good SEO and it shows it’s not all about you!
  18. Company Event. Include lots of photos with smiling faces! Show people how awesome it is to work here. Show that families are welcome and events are big and casual.
  19. Original Market Research. There are so many stats you can find online, but it’s sometimes valuable to produce something new and original. It takes some extra work, but you’ll be the only ones online with these numbers! Show people a new insight into your industry!
  20. Produce a YouTube Video. The only thing more engaging than well-crafted content is well-crafted video content! You can cram in a lot more information and cater to people’s short attention spans. Don’t underestimate the power of video.
